Dear
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Greetings, in the name of t our Lord Jesus Christ, someone had a
vision and a burden upon their heart in 1985. That vision and
burden was for a New Testament church in the Lexington area. This
vision was acted upon and a mission was started in that same year
under the leadership of Brother G. F. Crumley and White Oak
Baptist of Nancy, KY. As the sponsoring church. Brother Crumley
left this work in March 1992. Brother Kim Reeder served as pastor
from June 1992 until March of 1998, during that time Fairhaven was
organized as a church in September 1995. There have been various
pastors since Brother Reeder’s departure.
Brother
Charles Woodcock is the current pastor, he accepted the church’s
call and began as pastor November 2nd, 2003. We have great hopes
that with Brother Woodcock and the Lord working here we will
become a light house in this community once again.
We
believe the need that was there in 1985 is still present, if not
greater today. Fairhaven Baptist Church has helped touch lives
around the world the support of missions. The church is still
doing what she can to continue supporting this important work.
In
order for this church to continue in Lexington we feel it is
necessary to ask, mot importantly for your Prayers, along with
your Prayers, your financial support. We need financial support to
put a pastor ion the field full time.
Without
the support of our fellow brothers and sisters, the church will
continue to struggle, and spreading the gospel worldwide will be
hindered. (Matthew 28:19, 20)
Currently
there are about a dozen active members, and the average attendance
is between fifteen to twenty, and our weekly offerings are
averaging between three and four hundred dollars. While our
property is debt free, we do not have the means to support a
pastor full time. We feel that without a full time pastor we will
be delayed from going forth as the Lord would have us to. We
believe it is the Lord’s will for every New Testament Church to
go forward and progress.
Will
you please join us in this matter.
